Twenty years after the duo formation and fifteen after their debut recording Last Train -released in September 1995 to much critical acclaim including the  BASF Sunnie award winning acoustic album for the Best Rhythm & Blues Recording – Doc Span and Ross Williams trawled through the archives to find a selection of favourites only ever heard live in one venue at one time: Rare Recordings.Ramblin on my mind 0 02 56-14 (Custom) The Rare Recordings album is a natural progression of the duo’s long standing partnership that developed in Queensland out of a common love of music. Highly celebrated and widely traveled, with many festivals appearances under their belts, Span and Williams tunes have passion, wit, sadness & joy. Decades on the road, they averaged over 200 gigs a year and played to thousands across the country. A great duo! Doc blowing some amazing harp with Ross tastefully playing guitar whilst tapping away on the stomp box and foot snare. Rare Recordings continues in the same vein  as the largely original Last Train, upholding the tradition of the legendary Jelly Roll Kings, Mississippi John Hurt, Sonny Boy Williamson and others. If you weren’t at the gigs, here’s your chance.
